Balance Update – Mar 10

Some cards are set in stone, others move with the tide. Balancing aims to keep the game fair, with seasonal sets enduring a balance phase before stats lock.

Greetings mortals! 

The latest balance update is all about Trial of the Gods cards as the end of the balancing phase is closing in. We’re powering up the last few cards before stats are locked off for good, which will help strengthen a few of the domains, and balance some of the more powerful. We’ve also taken aim at a few Light cards that were shining a little too bright.

As Immutable X rolls out, we’ll be monitoring how the Core sets react once card trading becomes more accessible. While seasonal sets like Trial of the Gods have their stats locked off after their balancing phase ends, Core and Welcome sets are more malleable – and we have a suspicion that trading will see a greater number of Genesis and Trial of the Gods cards appearing in the Arena.

Buffs

  • Lead the Charge – changed from 3 mana to 2 mana.
  • Valka, Champion of War – Changed to from 8/8 to 9/9.
  • Fortified Acropolis – Changed from 2 strength to 3 strength.
  • Pious Giant – Changed from “Roar: If you have 20 favor or more, lose 20 favor and give +3/3 to this creature.” to “Roar: If you have 20 favor or more, lose 20 favor and give +3/3 and ward to this creature.”
  • Divine Messenger – Changed from “Roar: If you have 80 favor or more, give +5/+5 to each creature in your deck.” to “Roar: If you have 80 favor or more, give +5/+5 and ward to each creature in your deck..
  • Eris, Queen of Chaos – Changed from to “Deadly. Flank. Hidden. When this creature attacks a god, obliterate the top ten cards of your opponent’s deck.” to “Deadly. Flank. Hidden.Twin Strike. When this creature attacks, obliterate the top ten cards of your opponent’s deck.” Note: The “attacks a god” part has been removed if you missed that on first reading 🙂
  • Hierophant Silenus – Changed from 3/1 to 4/3.
  • Cruel Overseer – Changed from “At the end of your turn, if your god has 15 or less health, summon a 1/1 impling.” to “At the end of your turn, if your god has 15 or less health, summon two 1/1 implings.”
  • Enchanted Vines – Changed from “Deal 3 damage to four random creatures. Add a random Nature card to your hand.” to “Deal 4 damage to four random creatures. Add a random Nature card to your hand.”
  • Ornery Goat – Changed from 2 strength to 3 strength.
  • Tartessian Mob – Changed from 2 strength to 3 strength.
  • Undead Chimera – Changed from “After this creature attacks, deal 2 damage to each god” to “Roar & after this creature attacks, deal 2 damage to each god.”
  • Majes, Spectral Philosopher –  Added Ward & changed health from 1 to 2.
  • Rod of Rodents – Changed from 1 durability to 2 durability.
